Calls to numbers with extentions

Post by jfierro »

Does your new platform support extensions to landline phone numbers and if so how accurate is it?

Thank You.

IVR dialing out to an extension

Post by support »

Hi Jess,

Are you referring to transferring to phone numbers with extensions?

If so, you can use the following example format to dial out to an extension:

Code: Select all

<transfer dest="tel:+11234567890;postd=1234"/>
Hope this helps.

Thank You. I am also wondering what type of accuracy you have with use of this feature? Ideally, have you seen accuracy of 100% across all types of PBX systems, etc? In other words, will this work every time? We have clients who have enqired about this from us.

Again--Thank You for looking into this further.
Best,
Jess

no guarantee for 100% accuracy

Hi Jess,

There is no guarantee that this IVR code for dialing out to an extension will work 100% of the time as all PBXs are configured differently.

For example, if you get transferred to an autoattendant, there is no way of knowing of how many seconds it will take before it allows you to enter those digits to dial out to an extension.
