CCXML ?

Post by sureshkuyilath »

Are there any plans for supporting CCXML in your platform?
Thanks in advance.

many features of CCXML already implemented in IVR platform

Post by support »

We do not support the CCXML standard nor have any plans to in the near future. However, many of the features of CCXML are already implemented in the current Plum IVR platform.

Just curious, which features of CCXML have been implemented in the Plum platform?

call conferencing cannot be replaced using IVR platform

Post by support »

Hello,

Fundamentally CCXML can be used for the following: IVR call routing, IVR call transfer, IVR outbound calling and IVR call conferencing. The only IVR feature out of that list that can not be replaced using the Plum VoiceXML Platform is call conferencing. Is there some other feature missing that you are unable to find a work around for?

Call transfer is mainly what I'm interested in. I beleive in CCXML you can have a large amount of event states to capture durring a transfer such as when the transfer is dialing or the moment an actual connection occurs.

Is it possible to capture an event or even to know when a connection (callee picks up) occurs?

more info needed to help with IVR accomplishment

Hello,

There is no "connected" event generated so you can not act on the the IVR call being connected. However, after a transfer has been completed you can determine exactly when it was connected by using the shadow variable $.duration and a javascript Date object. Does that address the reason you need to know "the moment an actual connection occurs", or were you planning on doing something more complex? It would help if you could explain what you are trying to accomplish rather than describing the IVR feature.
