We work with a lot of customers that own vanity numbers or reg. 1800 numbers and are reluctant to pass ownership to anyone else (understandably so..)
In the past, we use to give them a DNIS, APN and RRN , Circuit ID etc to allow their Telecom provider/IT to point the number to our IVR system /script.

How can we achieve this in Plum Survey ? I see the option to give my client a local number (617..) and request them to point the 1800 number to it. In this option the carrier will charge us for the minutes in addition to what we already pay which is a big concern.

Hi,

Yes, it is true that if you point their TFN to one of our local 617 numbers for Plum Survey that you will have to pay both the fee of the toll-free provider as well as the fee for Plum to run the IVR. Also, if you chose to go this route which utilizes a local phone number, that number will lose the carrier redundancy capabilities that apply to regular TFN that we own or are RESPORGd to us. In regards to your customers being hesitant to RESPORG a number to us, we can assure them that they can request it be returned at any time. We do not keep any numbers that we have RESPORGd. The most straightforward approach to this problem would be for your customer to RESPORG the number to us, in which case you'll only be paying the IVR fee, but we understand that this might not be an ideal option.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Regards,
