Insert a time delay

Post by evanl@peopleclues.com »

Is there a way to insert a small time delay after when the voice file for a multiple choice question is read, and before the default prompt for how to answer the question (Press 1 for true, press 2 for false) is played?

I heard it there might be a way by placing a series of 3 periods?

Inserting a time delay for IVR survey

Placing 3 periods into the question text for IVR will cause the TTS to pause at that point. You can repeat this sequence ... ... ... for longer pauses. If you are uploading IVR recordings, you can add silence to the end of your IVR audio files to achieve the same thing.

Hope this helps,

So, if we are using a voice file, there's no way to add a delay other then record it into the voice file?

That is correct. Placing 3 periods into the question text for IVR will cause the TTS to pause at that point.
