Hi,

About the Comments question type, how are you implementing it? The way Comments questions work by default is that the user is prompted to record a message, enter a number when they're finished recording (or wait for the record timeout), and then press 1 to confirm the recording (if you have this enabled in "More Options..."). Users are not required to press # to save a recording.

Please let us know if you need further clarification.

Hi,

To clarify further about the Comments question, this is the built-in prompt that the user hears following the question text prompt you have set up for the question, "Begin your recording after the tone. To finish, press any number."

Note that the user is not required to press a number to finish the recording; they can simply wait for the record timeout to occur.

From there, by default, the user is then prompted to confirm their recording. You can select to disable confirming the recording by selecting "More Options..." for your Comments question and selecting "No" for "Confirm Recording".

So, to answer your question, yes, there is a way to set up your Comments question such that the user is not required to enter a number when they're finished recording. However, please be aware that if the user hangs up too early before the recording has finished (i.e. the survey is still picking up loud background noise for the recording), then the recording will not be saved. This is why we have set up "Confirm Recording" and allowing the user to press a number when they have finished recording; this guarantees that the recording will be saved by your survey.
