Does vxml or the plum voice platform support data digits (su

Post by cfromm »

Our PBX has the capability of accepting data digits from the caller. We were hoping to setup a simple CTI function, having the IVR to forward calls to an extension anticipating those digits.

The transfer would have to connect to the dest and once connected dial the "passed digits".

Essentially...

If the passed digits were 12345 then,

<transfer bridge="false" dest="&,701,12345">

OR

<transfer dest="701,12345">

Is this possible? in blind? in bridge?

IVR platform performs unsupervised blind transfers

Post by support »

Unfortunately this is not currently a feature or VoiceXML or the Plum IVR Platform. The problem originates with the fact that the IVR platform performs unsupervised blind transfers. That basically means that it dials the digits requested, wait for an event indicating the dialing was successful and then hangs up, there is no callee or ringback detection.

Plum prefers not to stray from the VoiceXML 2.0 spec unless there is significant demand for a new IVR feature. This feature is currently being considered and may make it into a future IVR platform release.
