No interpret-as attribute support in say-as tag?

The VoiceXML 2.0 spec [1] points at the Speech Synthesis 1.0 spec [2] which defines the attributes for the say-as tag (including interpret-as). It appears the Plum platform only supports a working draft from April 2002 of the Speech Synthesis spec [3] which defines the type attribute.

Is the say-as tag in the Plum platform going to change anytime soon to support VoiceXML 2.0? ETA?

Hello,

Plum maintains its own VoiceXML Browser and Speech Recognition Engine and we pride ourselves on our commitment to maintaining compliance with the VoiceXML 2.0 Specification.

Unfortunately SSML support is not completely within Plum's control. We partner with industry leading vendors to include support for Text To Speech (SSML). As new versions of these emerging standards come out our vendors will update their IVR engines and Plum will pass these updates onto our users. It is important to note that the current SSML 1.0 Specification is still not a final draft of that specification. We at Plum will encourage our vendors to stay up to date with each release candidate, and also strive to maintain backwards compatibility with each update.

Keep watching the news section of the Plum IVR Support Site for updates to our IVR Platform, Speech Recognition, and Text-To-Speech components.

Hope this helps!

The Plum Support team :)
