SMS Status

We're trying to understand the statuses we get back when an SMS is sent.
(success or failure), error message and the result data.
If an SMS is sent to a landline does that come through as a "success" because the message was sent? Do you know if it was "received"? What would constitute a failure?

Hi,

The "success" status indicates that the message was successfully sent from our platform, regardless of whether it was received by the end user or not. Our platform does not currently support delivery confirmation for SMS messages.

thanks for the response. What would be some examples of messages that file to send? What could cause that.

Hi,

To clarify, a "success" is returned for any message sent to a valid phone number. This is regardless of whether the number is set up to receive SMS or not (for example a landline), or whether the message was received by the far end or not. Messages sent to valid phone will be marked "success".

A "failure" is returned if the phone number the message was sent to was not a valid number. If an invalid phone number is entered our platform cannot execute the message, so it is a failure.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
