Use of SIP Headers

We have a client who will be transferring calls from their IVR to ours. We are hoping to use a SIP header to pass information from them to us.
In searching the forum I see the following post from 6/16/10.
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1538&p=5014&hilit=sip+header#p5011
It states:
we currently don't allow for inbound SIP calls or expose those SIP details at the VoiceXML level.
Is this functionality available now?

Hello,
Yes, we do allow for incoming SIP calls and it is possible to get direct access to incoming SIP headers (x-* and User-to-User). However, in order to access this feature, you will need to get in touch with your account manager in order to get approval for inbound SIP.
Thanks,

Thank you for the reply.
Is there a specific SIP standard that Plum requires?
Also if necessary can Plum handle a non-standard header?
We are looking to pass an account number from their IVR to ours so we do not have to reacquire it.
For example something like:
Account: 123456.

Hello,
Our systems utilize the SIP standards, we do not have any proprietary SIP software. Our IVR platform will only allow access to the SIP headers for User-to-User and x-*.

Thank you again.
This gets me started.
One more thing, we are a DIY shop. What do we need to do to get the SIP header information in our process?
Is there any set up that will be required?
