A New IVR Platform Software Release is live!

Post by support »

The newest version of the Plum Voice IVR platform (version 2.4.2.7) went live on the developers hosting site Tuesday, May 18th. Field deployment to our customers will begin the following monday (May 24th).

The release is currently undergoing load testing to ensure that the system will not buckle under heavy IVR traffic. Currently we have simulated 1 million calls successfully and that number is still growing, as Plum will be load testing the IVR system all week.

Here are the changes in this release:
* The telephony layer in the Plum IVR platform has been refactored for greater reliability. The IVR platform relies on Dialogic software to control the telephony hardware at a low level. Unfortunately, there are numerous states that the Dialogic software can get into, and Plum's software has been modified to provide a better API wrapper so that it's impossible for the Dialogic system to enter these states that are known to be bad.

* The Rabiner-Sambur speech detection algorithm has been implemented and now replaces the decibel-based barge-in threshold. See the last news item from April for more information.

* A JSGF to ABNF translator has been integrated into the SpeechWorks ASR module.

We will continue to provide the latest, up to date news on the upcoming releases as well as new IVR developments with the support site and IVR development tools/documentation.

Sincerely,

The Plum Support Team
