Invalid number on outbound call

Post by adriannaude »

Hi,

I have noticed that the platform reports "number unobtainable" as result "failed", callee_type "busy" during outbound calls on the UK platform. Is this what I should expect?

IVR sys marks unsuccessful call as fax, busy, noanswer, oper

Post by support »

Hello,

That is the correct IVR behavior. Plum does not differentiate between the various busy signals. If an IVR call was unsuccessful, IVR will mark it as one of the following: fax, busy, noanswer, and operator. The operator error message applies to operator intercept messages, but this behavior is not guaranteed as it is carrier dependant.

Hi,

I have managed to obtain a response of
failed / linefailure
on an outbound call. Has there been a change to the expected statuses that can be returned from an outbound call request?

Thanks,
Adrian

callee types that might be returned by the IVR platform

Post by support »

Hi,

The previous post was incomplete. Here is the complete list of callee types that might be returned by the IVR platform:

voice
disconnect
answeringmachine
faxmachine
unknown
linefailure
noanswer
busy
informationtone

It is not clear, however, how many of the above might you will see in practice, since certain dialogic boards and/or T1 connections only report a subset of the above.

have IVR oubound system call local number

Post by support »

The Plum IVR outbound system can not call toll-free numbers. If your 800 number forwards to a local number, we advise you to have the outbound IVR system call your local number instead.

Yes, I know I do it to see if PLUM is up. The 1 -800 number forwards normally to our local office phone.
