Is there a way to know if a phone # is a landline or cell #?

I am looking to check if there is a way that we can know if the phone# is a landline or cell # before even making the call? or can we know based on the response of a text message?

Not sure if Plum has an in-house solution. If not, take a look into Twilio's Lookup API. It can tell you the type of line and some other information about the caller as well. https://www.twilio.com/lookup
