Using the Outbound calling API, is there a way to send sms text messages to cell phones?

Hi,

You cannot send SMS text messages through the IVR outbound calling API. It is used for IVR outbound calling only.

I thought as much. That begs the question: is there any way at all to send SMS text messages using VoiceXML or any other utilities available through the Plum IVR system? If not, what do folks recommend?

Sorry, we do not know of any XML-based SMS services that would allow you to send SMS text messages using IVR.
