Bad music experience heared from IVR

Post by Frank »

Hi,

We have tried a lot of mp3 music file, and it is all good in computer. But it is always scratchy once upload to ivr server and listened from phone.

It seams that plum server has done a high compression to our music file.

The background of music is always scratchy, that usually needs a high quality.

We have tried sevaral format as the document mentioned

* 8 kHz 16-bit linear PCM headerless (*.l16)
* 8 kHz 8-bit µ-law encoded headerless (*.ul)
* 8 kHz 8-bit a-law encoded headerless (*.al)
* 8 kHz 16-bit linear PCM WAV (*.wav)
* 8 kHz 8-bit µ-law WAV (*.wav)
* 8 kHz 8-bit a-law WAV (*.wav)
* MP3 (*.mp3) - Note: If the audio file is poorly encoded, the mp3 will not work.

So far we can not get a good experience.

IVR fix for encoding .mp3 files

Post by support »

Hi,

What tool did you use to encode the .mp3 files?

If you can send us the .mp3 file that was encoded, we can take a look at it and try to reproduce this IVR error. You can e-mail the .mp3 file to support@plumvoice.com with your customer ID in the subject line. The customer ID would be found in your support contract with Plum. If you do not yet have a support contract with Plum, you should contact your sales representative regarding this IVR issue.

Regards,
Plum Support
