Big recording files don't get posted because of fetchtimeout

Post by sbaraian »

I just discovered that some big recording files didn't get posted because of fetchtimeout to low, I changed that but i was wondering if there is any place in Plum that saves these recordings, so i can manualy take the ones that I'm missing.

Thanks

Calls are not stored on IVR server

Post by support »

Sorry, we do not store any persistent recordings of IVR calls on our IVR servers. Recordings made during an IVR call are immediately deleted on termination of the IVR call, even if IVR fetch errors occured.

Fetch timeout to small

Post by sbaraian »

I set the fetchtimeou to maximum allowed value of 180s, the thing is even this value is not big enough to handle a call recording of 10 minutes to post to our webserver.
Can I increase that value above 180s? can i split the recording somehow?
Is teher any other solution that i might not be aware of? Please advise.

Thank you

Limits to IVR capabilities

Unfortunately you cannot increase the IVR fetchtimeout beyond 180s. You will want to look into the performance of your webserver and/or its internet connection. A 10 minute recording will be less than 10 MB; your webserver needs to be able to accept an uploaded file of this size within 180 seconds. You may also want to get in contact with sales about how we could provide a local recording repository for your IVR audio files in case uploading them fails. Within our own datacenter, we would able to post and store long recordings very reliably for you.
