We recently transferred a number over to our control (via resporg process).
It's a standard 10 digit phone number, however we later found out it's being marketed with a "spelled" out version of the number with eleven digits. Ex: If 800-392-6753 were the number we host, it's being marketed as 800-EXAMPLES (the "S" or the 7 is the 11th digit).
If you dial the eleven digit phone number it typically works from most phones, but in some VOIP phones it does not connect. As I understand these phones might be passing the 11 digit to us almost like an extension - and our application doesn't recognize it or can't handle it.
Is there someway to program our application to handle this use case? Either to ignore any digits after the 10 digit - or to accept the extra digit.
Thanks!

11 Digit Phone Number
Re: 11 Digit Phone Number
Hi chawkins,
If this is a phone number that users are dialing to get to your application, then there is no way for you to programmatically handle this use case as it is out of the IVR application's control.
