wav file too big?

Post by uncleunvoid »

I just uploaded a 38MB wav file with a nice long speech.
Yet the response is that the phone stays quiet for about a minute anbd then goes on with the interface as if the sound would have played.

what's wrong?

all the other shorter sounds play fine.

is it possibl eto use mp3s to shrink the file?

IVR code needed to demonstrate user's issue

Post by support »

Hi,

I would suggest checking your web server to see if the file was uploaded properly.

You could post a snippet of IVR code here as well that demonstrates this IVR issue.

its not a code issue.

as i said the other sounds play fine using the exact same script

i downloaded the sound from the server again and i can play it on my machine, no problem.

is the phone system not able to play sounds over a certain size or is it a streaming issue?

is it possible to use mp3s at all?

IVR platform has limit to playing large files

Post by support »

Hi,

The IVR platform does not have a limit in regard to playing large files. So, your large wav file should be playing just fine. Could you post your IVR call log here that demonstrates this IVR issue?

Yes, it is possible to use mp3 files.
