How can I convert a voice recording to text

How can I convert a voice recording (an end user's first name) into text so that it can be saved in MySQL (along with other end user data) and played back to the end user with the existing text-to-speech technology (AT&T Natural Voices) that is currently on the Plum platform?

Sorry, but this implementation of voice recording to speech is not possible with the IVR system.
