dtmf Data Encryption
I am writing an application that requires cell phone user to key in their credit card and pin numbers (dtmf data). Our merchant requires that the data keyed in be encrypted right from the users cell phne before it is transmitted on the teleco network to our IVR system/application. Is this possbile? If not how do you ensure that a users credit card data is secure?
transmission of data over IVR servers
Hi there,
Sorry, but this method of encrypting data right from the user's cell phone is not possible.
About your concern on security for credit card data, it isn't any different from if your bank asks you for your account number over the phone. Also, please keep in mind that none of this data is stored on any of our IVR hosting infrastructure. We simply just take the data that comes in from the IVR application and pass it along to wherever it needs to go. We have no control over the data that is sent to our IVR servers and monitoring whether the data is safe and secure in transit.

Re: dtmf Data Encryption
Does the DTMF signaling system for telephones work for cell phones or not? Somebody I know started arguing with me about it. (I'm not telling you who took which side). Please tell me if you know.
